Eating Disorder & Body Image Therapy for Teens, College Students & Young Adults in California

DR. MEG JONES, PSYD

Compassionate online therapy to help you heal from eating and body image struggles – all from the comfort of home.

“And I said to my body. softly. ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath. And replied ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.” – Nayyirah Waheed

I work with clients who have found themselves stuck in a binge-restrict cycle, are confused about contradicting diet messages online, and feel out of control around food. You might feel too scared or ashamed to tell anyone what’s going on or you’re unsure whether your experience is “serious enough” to need help.

Therapy provides a space that can help you understand where these behaviors are coming from and what you can do to move forward.

“Meghan is a very supportive therapist. She has a knack for seeing her clients through complex situations with empathy and attuned guidance. While working beside her as a colleague I noticed how her experience treating eating disorders and body image challenges translated to creative, strength-based interventions that helped clients see themselves and their struggles with greater compassion.”

– Leandra Lehmann, LMFT and Art Therapist

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP

Your Space for Healing Your Relationship With Food, Body & Self

Eating disorders are complex and they’re never just about food. Therapy offers a safe space to explore what’s beneath the surface and begin to untangle the emotions, thoughts, and core beliefs that are driving the eating disorder.

Whether you're early in your recovery or feeling stuck in long-standing patterns, support can make a real difference. Over time, my goal for working with you is to help you:

  • Develop a more peaceful & flexible relationship with food

  • Understand the emotional roots of disordered eating patterns

  • Reduce constant body checking, comparison and negative self-talk

  • Break free from restrictive or binge cycles

  • Build self-compassion and strengthen identity beyond body image

  • Learn alternative and healthy coping strategies for anxiety, stress, and big emotions

  • Navigate peer pressure, social media and cultural expectations around appearance

  • Reconnect with your body in a way that feels safe and empowering

HOW I WORK

Evidence-Based Online Therapy For Body Image & Eating Disorders

I use an “all foods fit” and Health at Every Size framework to help clients improve their relationship with food and body image. My goal is to help you feel less obsessed with food and move you towards a life that feels full, rich, and fulfilling in many ways. Together, we will identify and challenge unhelpful eating disorder thoughts and behaviors.

I work alongside your treatment team (MD, dietitian, and psychiatrist) to provide holistic care. For teens, I work closely with parents to provide education about eating disorders and managing meals at home.
