DR. MEG JONES, PSYD

Online Therapy & Mental Health Support for Identity Exploration and Life Transitions

Helping teens, college students, and young adults in California move through big changes and find their true self with more clarity, calm, and confidence.

“It’s never too late to be who you might have been” – George Elliot

Whether it’s a transition to a new school, moving away from home, getting your first job, having kids, or any other change, new beginnings usually have a tendency to feel sad, scary, and exciting all at once. Through life’s transitions there is immense self-discovery and moments where we are faced with the challenge to figure out who we want to be and what we value. Identity exploration is a lifelong process that I view as always evolving and never fully “achieved”. I want to hold space for you through life’s transitions to explore all that you have been and all that you could be.

Therapy can help you move through life’s transitions with flexibility, optimism, and bravery. Together, we can sort through all the noise and connect with your most authentic self, tap into your deepest values, and help you learn how you can embrace every part of yourself .

“Meghan is a very supportive therapist. She has a knack for seeing her clients through complex situations with empathy and attuned guidance. While working beside her as a colleague I noticed how her experience treating eating disorders and body image challenges translated to creative, strength-based interventions that helped clients see themselves and their struggles with greater compassion.”

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP

Your Space For Exploring Who You Are & Who You Want To Become

Settling into change and making space for growth takes time. It isn’t about having everything figured out, nor is it about getting to a final destination where you’ve finally crossed the “finish line”. Instead, it’s about slowing down, taking life one step at a time, and becoming the person you want to be along the way.

By working together, we can help you:

  • Navigate change with more clarity and confidence

  • Create routines to feel grounded and resourced

  • Heal inner narratives that are holding you back

  • Untangle conflicting messages from family, culture, and society

  • Explore your identity without judgment, expectations, or pressure

  • Reflect on past experiences and relationships that have shaped who you are today

  • Build confidence in who you are and what you believe

  • Strengthen your voice in relationships, school, work, and hobbies

  • Learn how to live a life that feels grounded in your values

HOW I WORK

I bring a warm and relational approach to therapy that’s grounded in evidence-based practices, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT). I believe that identity work is best done in a space where you feel genuinely seen, not just as a set of labels or symptoms, but as a whole person with nuance, contradictions, and evolving values.

Therapy sessions can offer you a space to pause, reflect, and find grounding through all of life’s changes and discoveries. Together, we can build practical skills to help you manage anxiety, navigate relationships, and stay grounded through the ups and downs.

My goal for therapy is not to help you cultivate curiosity and meet the road ahead with more clarity, confidence, and resilience. Our work together is about making space for the quiet shifts, radical growth, and self-assurance that comes from navigating transitions smoothly and moving toward a more aligned version of yourself.
