DR. MEG JONES, PSYD
Online Therapy & Mental Health Support for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Helping teens, college students, and young adults in California find relief from obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors
“A person that flies from their fear may find that they have only taken a shortcut to meet it” – J.R.R. Tolkien
Are you suffering from intrusive and obsessive thoughts? Do you play the “what if” game in your mind for hours or need to flip the light switch, sometimes dozens of times, before you're convinced that things will be ok?
OCD symptoms can range from mildly annoying to completely debilitating and for some, compulsive behaviors help them feel safe during moments of uncertainty and doubt. Untreated, OCD is a never-ending cycle of seeking safety and avoiding discomfort. I want to help break the cycle and understand that your OCD rituals are not necessary for you to feel safe in an uncertain world.
Therapy offers a space to challenge obsessive thoughts by resisting compulsive behaviors strategically and with purpose. Together, we will confront your OCD themes one by one to help you feel less consumed and more free in your day-to-day life.

“Meghan is a very supportive therapist. She has a knack for seeing her clients through complex situations with empathy and attuned guidance. While working beside her as a colleague I noticed how her experience treating eating disorders and body image challenges translated to creative, strength-based interventions that helped clients see themselves and their struggles with greater compassion.”

HOW THERAPY CAN HELP
Your Space to Get “Unstuck” from Your OCD Behaviors & Patterns
OCD doesn’t discriminate and will try to attach to anything that you value and care about. Challenging OCD and going through OCD treatment is difficult and also worth it. When working with clients, many start to feel less “stuck” in their thoughts and behaviors after just a few sessions.
Together, we’ll work toward helping you:
Understand what OCD is and how it is affecting you
Identify and call out your obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviors
Label the core emotions triggered by your OCD (e.g. fear, worry, disgust)
Build confidence in your ability to manage intense emotions without avoidance or safety behaviors
Create and work through an OCD hierarchy using Exposure and Response Prevention
HOW I WORK
I bring a warm, grounded, and relational approach to my work and when treating OCD, I always use Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). In addition to these modalities, I bring in elements of mindfulness, aligning with values, and incorporate a strengths-based approach in sessions.
My goal in OCD therapy is to help you break the cycle of your OCD, gain self-confidence, and feel more in control of your emotions and thoughts. Together, we will help you move past your OCD so that you can move towards building the life you want.
