Online Therapy For Teens In California

Mental Health Services To Help Adolescents Feel Seen & Supported

Teens are under a lot of pressure. Therapy can help.

Adolescence can feel overwhelming, stressful and confusing. Teens today are required to deal with challenges that older generations never had to face and for many, it is a constant struggle to keep up.

Whether they’re struggling with anxiety, OCD, disordered eating, identity formation or big life transitions - therapy can help teens feel more understood, empowered and resilient.

WHERE I CAN HELP

Mental Health Services To Help Teens Navigate Modern Adolescence

Many teens are pushing themselves to the limit academically, struggling socially, and dealing with negative effects of social media. They may be caught in a cycle of anxiety and self-doubt or seem withdrawn, irritable, and stuck in a negative mindset. Even teens that seem “fine” on the surface may be silently struggling with the pressure of perfectionism, emotional overwhelm, and a harsh inner critic.

Common mental health challenges I can help with include:

  • Anxiety

  • Academic transitions

  • Friendship issues

  • Intense pressure to succeed

  • Disordered eating & body image

  • Emotional dysregulation

  • Emotional expression

  • Coping skills

  • Negative self-talk

  • Perfectionism and people-pleasing

  • Identity development or self-worth

  • College preparation

BENEFITS OF THERAPY

A Space For Teens To Grow & Thrive

My goal is to help teens learn how to regulate their emotions, develop healthy coping skills, feel more in control of their life, and cultivate self-compassion. I want to create a space where teens can be 100% themselves. Where they can let their guard down, reflect and discover who they are – without pressure, masks or judgment.

Over time, your teen will:

  • Understand their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors

  • Have more self-awareness

  • Build a healthier self-esteem and body image

  • Learn skills to manage anxiety, overwhelm and stress

  • Improve relationships and communication

  • Develop a stronger sense of identity

  • Navigate life transitions with confidence

  • Feel less alone and more supported

HOW I WORK

An Evidence-Based Approach To Online Teen Therapy

I use a warm, compassionate, and evidence-based approach to therapy. In my work, I draw from a variety of different therapy modalities, such as:

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

  • Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)

I tailor my work with each client based on their unique needs, strengths, and personality. Therapy with me might include skill-building, creative expression, and mindfulness – whatever helps them feel most engaged and supported.

"I’ve worked with Dr. Meg for several years, starting in high school, where she helped me balance school and relationships. She is really warm and genuine, and I always feel comfortable opening up to her. Lately, she’s helped me adjust to all the life changes that have come with transitioning to college, and her support has made the process feel so much more manageable."

A NOTE FOR TEENS

Why Teens Like Working With Me

Teens appreciate that I’m “real” with them. I show up as a person, not just a professional, and I make therapy feel more like a good conversation than a clinical experience.

My number one priority when working with teens is to build trust and meet them where they’re at – with humor, patience, and deep respect for their voice and autonomy. I like to offer teens an “out” if they’re feeling uncomfortable or don’t want to talk about something so they understand early on that they are in control of their own experience.

I also know that not every teen is excited about therapy right away and that’s completely normal. If you’re feeling unsure or reluctant, I’m happy to create a low-pressure space for us to get to know each other. Sometimes all it takes is one conversation to shift from “therapy is weird” to “this might actually help.”

A NOTE FOR PARENTS

What You Should Know Before Signing Up Your Teen

As a parent or caregiver, it’s not easy to see your teen struggle and figure out the best way to support them. My main priority in working with your teen is to build a trusting relationship with them. That being said, I do take a collaborative approach when it comes to parents and family. Here’s what you can expect:

Confidentiality

I’ll help you understand your kid and have more compassion for what they’re going through. I’ll touch base with you regularly (with your teen’s consent) and offer guidance on how to support them at home.

Communication

Therapy works best when teens feel safe. My first priority is always to maintain their privacy but I do keep you informed if there are important themes or immediate safety concerns that you have to know about.

Involvement

For some families, it’s helpful to have parent check-ins or joint family sessions – especially around topics like boundaries, school stress or eating disorder recovery. We’ll schedule these as needed.
